Thoughts become less and less, the focus becomes more and more. Crochet starts to drown out the nagging thoughts, the constant thoughts of worry that race through your mind just as the day turns to night and you need a good night’s rest. Crochet brings about a sense of meditation, the repetition is comforting, it is easy, it is gentle, it allows your mind to take a well-deserved break. But yet crochet still makes you feel like you have accomplished something, the time you have spent making a blanket or even just practicing a new pattern hasn’t been a waste of time. You feel an ease, a sense of joy, and simply grateful for the new project you have begun. Your mind has focused on one thing for a period of time rather than multiple anxious thoughts. This mindful moment you have created naturally through the practice of crochet.
