Kara is passionate about personalised nutrition and a functional approach to health. She loves educating people about healthy eating and empowering them to make informed choices when it comes to their diet & lifestyle. Kara has a holistic approach to the body and health, she looks at the root cause of conditions, rather than just treating symptoms, making for sustainable lasting improvements to health.
After her own struggles with anxiety and panic attacks as well as IBS, Kara gained a curiosity around the gut-brain connection and the idea that everything in the body is connected. She attended the Irish Institute of Nutrition & Health to study Nutritional Therapy and instantly felt, in her own words ‘that everyone needs to know this stuff!’. She now works in Midleton Holistic Health Centre and online providing one-to-one consultations, courses, workshops, corporate programs.
‘A personalised approach to nutrition is what is key. What is good for me, might not be good for you. I am fascinated by the body, it is a wonderful self healing organism, given the right environment and food, but it is easy to see how without the right constituents the body & brain can really start to suffer. My studies have of course led to my own nutrition & self care journey which has really allowed me to reduce and manage my anxiety and I am passionate about helping others to do the same.’
